There is something to hide from and it is “nothing.” I have been in situations where someone brags about the nothing someone has done compared to the something they have done. Someone would say, “that’s nothing compared to what I did.” But indeed, nothing is something.
We have a Father in Heaven Who cares about our actions big or small. He knows that each action has a consequence for good or evil. He encourages us to be kind to each other and not compare sins. We are all different and are affected in different ways.
So, how do we change the way we look at nothing? Call it by it’s right name. If you fall, you call that a fall. If you lie, you call it a lie. If you commit adultery, you call it adultery. If you steal, you call it stealing. No longer justify your actions by saying, “that’s nothing compared to what someone else did or would do.”
Facing the crime, enables you to get over the crime but justifying it only encourages you to do it more. You have a heavenly Father Who can take away every desire, need and desperation you have that encourages you to commit these actions. He wants you to bring them to Him in prayer. He wants you to be open, honest and freed. So, whatever you have done or are doing, take it to God in prayer. He can take your something and make it truly nothing.
